Creation II - 2048

The Creation II - 2048 is the first lighting controller in GLP’s new Creation II Series. Continuing in the spirit of the original Creation controller, the Creation II impresses with a powerful feature set, a solid hardware platform whilst keeping full focus on a simple-to-operate user interface.

Thanks to its intuitive interface and the 5.7 inch full color touchscreen, it is possible to control even large and complex setups in a simple and efficient manner. Features, such as a dedicated media server section, multi-console networking, a comprehensive effects generator, a powerful fanning engine, full HTP/LTP configuration, individual parameter timings, fixture cloning, a touch-screen color picker, timecode input and output, and a multi-functional, user-definable button and fader configuration, make it a flexible and powerful state-of-the-art lighting control solution.

The Creation II - 2048 controls up to 2048 channels over DMX or ArtNet. The console comes equipped with a comprehensive fixture library and a powerful fixture setup wizard, which makes fixture configuration simple and efficient. The integrated library editor allows you to add new fixtures or update existing ones at any time – even during the show. The Creation II – 2048 also supports on the fly replacement of complete fixture types, which is particularly handy when an already programmed fixture of one brand needs to be replaced by another. All updates and backups are done simply via the in-built USB ports.

As for the hardware, the Creation II – 2048 is based on a fan-less industrial single-board-computer, which runs from a solid state disk. Together with the auto-sensing fan-less power supply, we eliminated any mechanical parts inside the console, greatly increasing the robustness and reliability of the hardware. In combination with our embedded Linux operating system, which has a boot time of less than 20 seconds, the console delivers maximum stability and reliability.

The combination of the comprehensive feature set, the compact hardware design and a sensible market based price, make the Creation II – 2048 an excellent choice for all shows and venues with up to 320 lighting fixtures, with a maximum of 2048 channels.

The Creation II – 2048 features advanced functionality in a number of areas for such a small and compact console. One of these is the multi-functional button panel which gives full flexibility without needing to invest in additional hardware. 4 panels are included in the standard desk configuration with each of these panels having 16 memory buttons, along with a graphical status display. Using the control section, you can reconfigure the behavior of each of the 4 button panels at any time. You can individually choose options such as fixture and group selection, playback of cuelists, effects activation, preset recall or even macro playback, amongst others. This easy and fast re-configuration makes it possible to quickly adapt the consoles' user interface to any demands during the show. It doesn't matter whether you enjoy having dozens of extra buttons for programming or if you prefer having up to 64 additional cuelists at your fingertips when it comes to showtime – any configuration can be achieved within seconds.

The desks' control faders are also configurable by the user to match their preferred setup. Whether it be intensity submasters for fixture groups, effect or cuelist controls, or even master speed timing control, the choice is yours.

Presets now have the functionality of much more than just fixture parameters, such as colors and positions. The Creation II – 2048 allows you to create effect presets or timing presets – timing can be stored with other parameters, or as a separate entity to be applied to any transition. As you would expect all cues referencing these presets are updated when you make any changes, no matter what information they are storing.

Hi everybody,

for all of you, who have been wondering how things are going, here is a foto from Plasa 2010. We currently plan to build the first series of desks by the end of October. We don't yet know exactly when we will be starting to sell the new consoles, but we will inform you as soon as we have more information. My personal guess is that the first consoles will be sold by the end of November or the beginning of december. Betatest is already running.

Kind regards,

Hi everybody,

just wanted to tell those of you, who will be attending the "GLP Heimspiel" customer event next week, that we have decided to add a Creation I and II workshop next tuesday to the list of workshops. There you will also have the opportunity to try out our current prototypes of the Creation II, which we have presented on PLASA.

I will be there for leading the workshop and give you detailed answers to all questions regarding our lighting control solutions.

Kind regards,
